    20 Quick Tips on Photography

Here are 20 short photography tips for you to add information and your photography skills, I'm sure some have been done but hopefully some other new information. Click on the sign (if any) to the right of each tip to see more detailed information. Please:

    1. To train your panning skills, portrait objects that are moving at normal speed (people riding motors for example), use the shutter priority mode and set the shutter speed to a maximum of 1/30 sec, slower the better. Watch your background!
    2. To capture macros (super close range), enable your camera's Live View feature to make it easier to check depht of field and focus.
    3. CPL filter (polarization) is very useful to remove the reflection of sunlight in water and glass, and also works to improve the color of the sky. Have you wear a polarized sun-glasses?
    4. When shooting baby / children, make sure you focus on the eyes. Nothing can beat the beauty of the eyes of children.
    5. Megapixel camera is not the most important feature of a camera, sensor size is the most important feature
    6. For portait (face) photos outdoors, try when the weather is overcast. If not, look for areas that are dim and not exposed to direct sunlight. The sunrise makes a hard shadow on the face.
    7. When you are shooting in low light conditions and difficulty using autofocus, replace it with manual focus. Camera autofocus feature is usually long enough to find the focal point in dim conditions.
    8. For silhouette photos, make sure you turn off the flash and use sunset mode (for pocket camera), for SLR use manual mode and measure exposure in light area behind object.
    9. Download the pdf version of the manual for your camera, so you can quickly search for words you want to know instead of flipping through pages.
    10. Before setting out to shoot, check your camera settings again, do not let you use the wrong settings (photographing landscape with ISO 1000 for example). According to pro photographers, a good check sequence is the following: check White Balance - enable Highlight warning feature - check ISO settings - check the size of your photo Resolution.
    11. Format the memory card only in the camera, never format the computer memory card. Besides being much faster and easier it is also much safer if you do it in the camera.
    12. If you have extra hard disk capacity on your computer and love to do photo editing, use RAW format when shooting, otherwise use JPG.
    13. If you really like landscape photography, take a look at the following hours: from 5 am to 8 am, and from 4 to 7 pm.
    14. When shooting, look at the brightest areas that go into your viewfinder. If the brightness is too striking compared to other areas, replace the shooting angle.
    15. To take HDR photos, use auto bracket mode. One more: for great landscape HDR photos, wait until it appears a little cloudy, then start shooting.
    16. If you buy a used lens or camera, make sure you make a transaction by meeting the seller directly. You must test the goods, hold and try them
    17. As far as possible, use the ISO setting as low as possible. Although noise reduction can reduce the noise generated by high ISO, but will reduce the detail of the photo as a whole.
    18. If the color makes your photos too "busy" and crowded, change your photo into a black and white photo
    19. To produce a good black-and-white photo, note the contrast in your photo. The more contrast (dark and light areas vary), the better your black and white photo.
    20. Take the camera with you wherever you go, the quickest way to improve your photography skills is to increase the flying hours, nothing better.
